Vapour Honing

Vapour Honing

Vapor honing, also known as vapor blasting or wet blasting, is a surface finishing process used to clean, degrease, and texture surfaces.

Vapour honing involves the propelling of a mixture of abrasive media and water vapor under high pressure onto the surface of a workpiece. The combination of abrasives and water vapor creates a slurry that effectively removes contaminants and imperfections, leaving a smooth, satin-like finish.

Benefits include improved surface cleanliness, enhanced appearance, reduced material loss, and the ability to achieve precise surface texturing without causing damage. With the correct person in control, it is a more gentle process and also enivronmentally friendly as it does not use agressive chemicals.

Lastly, vapour honing does not produce dust as the abrassive media particals are larger. Despite it being a relatively new technology, we have extensive experience with a wide range of workpieces, so please enquire if we can help you with your restoration project.
